Responsibilities
- Translate complex business needs into precise technical specifications.
- Design, build, and deploy robust BI solutions, including data warehousing models.
- Evaluate, maintain, and improve existing BI systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate systems seamlessly.
- Develop and execute database queries to conduct deep-dive analyses.
- Create high-impact visualizations and reports for specific projects.
- Develop and maintain thorough technical documentation.
- Provide ongoing data support to clients and maintain data analytics platforms.
- Conduct comprehensive unit testing and troubleshooting to ensure data integrity.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for this Senior BI Developer (JHB Hybrid) position, you must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or a related discipline. Additionally, you are required to possess the following Microsoft certifications:
- MCSA: Business Intelligence Development and Business Intelligence Reporting.
- MCSE: Data Management & Analytics.
- Microsoft Certified Azure Data Engineer.
Technical Skills and Experience
- Proven background in Data Warehouse design (specifically Dimensional Modelling) and Data Mining.
- In-depth understanding of database management systems, OLAP, and ETL frameworks.
- Strong ability to gather requirements independently from stakeholders and implement tailored solutions within existing projects.
- Expert proficiency with the Microsoft BI Stack, including:
- Power BI (Desktop & Online) and DAX.
- SQL, T-SQL, SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS.
- Azure ecosystem: Storage Blob, Azure Synapse, Azure Analysis Service, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, and Integration Runtime.
- A solid understanding of ERP, CRM, and general business processes is highly advantageous.
