Measured Ability is seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Supervisor – Manufacturing to join our team in the Eastern Cape, specifically within the Nelson Mandela Bay region (Port Elizabeth / Uitenhage). In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring our operational excellence by overseeing technical maintenance activities and leading a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
As the Maintenance Supervisor – Manufacturing, you will be responsible for coordinating all preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance tasks to ensure maximum plant and equipment availability while keeping downtime to an absolute minimum. Your daily duties will include managing maintenance schedules, job cards, work permits, and planning for plant shutdowns.
You will lead root cause analysis investigations to identify systemic issues and implement effective corrective actions. A core aspect of this role involves supervising and mentoring your team, monitoring maintenance costs, and identifying ongoing cost-saving opportunities. Additionally, you will ensure full compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental, and company standards while maintaining strong collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements
- Certificate in a Technical or Maintenance-related field (NQF 5).
- Trade Test qualification (NQF 5).
- First Line Management Programme (FLMP) Certificate (NQF 5).
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment.
- 1–2 years of proven supervisory experience.
- Ability to work shifts.
Advantageous Qualifications
- Diploma in a Technical or Maintenance-related field (NQF 6).
