Logistics Coordinator Vacancy in Cape Town

Time Personnel is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join a well-established company in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town. If you have 2–3 years of experience in international imports and thrive in a hands-on, fast-paced environment, this role offers a great opportunity to make a tangible impact on supply chain efficiency. We are looking for an organized professional to oversee the movement of local and international shipments, manage stock control, and streamline essential administrative processes.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 qualification supported by at least 2 years of experience in a similar logistics role.
  • A relevant qualification in International Freight Management, Transport Economics, or Supply Chain Management is highly advantageous.
  • Comprehensive understanding of international import supply chain management.
  • Proven knowledge of domestic warehousing and courier operations.
  • Strong administrative and numerical skills with a high degree of professional integrity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 at an intermediate level.
  • Working knowledge of CRM and ERP systems, with preference given to candidates familiar with MS Business Central.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor all inbound and outbound local and international shipments.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers, freight forwarders, couriers, customs agents, and warehouse partners.
  • Manage the end-to-end tracking of shipments and customs clearance, proactively resolving any transport or delivery delays.
  • Oversee inventory management, including receiving, inspecting, labeling, and capturing stock accurately within the ERP system.
  • Perform regular stock inspections, identify discrepancies, and manage quality-related queries with suppliers.
  • Lead monthly stock takes and maintain the general organization of the stores.
  • Prepare all necessary logistics documentation, including picking slips, packing lists, and waybills for domestic distribution.
  • Maintain precise supply chain records and generate performance reports.
  • Analyze freight costs and shipping performance to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
  • Monitor supplier service level agreements (SLAs) and assist in performance reviews and negotiations.
  • Support procurement planning and align production/shipping schedules with operational deadlines.
  • Foster strong, professional relationships with external partners while ensuring responsive communication across all supply chain functions.
