We are currently seeking a seasoned Human Resource Manager to join a leading organization within the aerospace and advanced manufacturing sector in Somerset West. As a pivotal member of our team, you will serve as a trusted strategic and operational partner to management, providing comprehensive support throughout the entire employee lifecycle.
This role requires a dedicated professional who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment. You will be instrumental in driving organizational effectiveness, talent development, and HR compliance while maintaining strong engagement with employees and management across all levels. The position offers a remuneration of R60,000 CTC per month.
Key Responsibilities
HR Business Partnering
- Collaborate with leadership to align people strategies with core business objectives.
- Serve as a professional advisor on all employee-related matters.
- Support managers in making consistent, legally compliant, and informed people decisions.
- Foster strong, productive relationships with stakeholders at every level of the organization.
Employee Relations
- Provide expert guidance on disciplinary and grievance procedures.
- Manage employee relations cases in strict accordance with company policy and South African labour legislation.
- Navigate conflict resolution, absenteeism, incapacity, and performance challenges with impartiality and fairness.
Performance Management
- Facilitate robust performance management processes to foster a culture of accountability.
- Coach managers on conducting effective development conversations.
- Identify performance gaps and assist in the implementation of improvement plans.
Talent Management & Development
- Lead initiatives regarding succession planning and talent retention.
- Identify training requirements and support career development programs that drive individual and organizational growth.
Recruitment & Employee Lifecycle
- Partner with hiring managers to execute efficient recruitment, selection, and onboarding strategies.
- Support workforce planning, including promotions, transfers, and offboarding processes.
HR Policies, Processes & Compliance
- Ensure the seamless implementation and consistent application of all HR policies.
- Stay current with evolving South African labour legislation to ensure organizational compliance.
- Maintain HR metrics and reporting to drive data-informed decision-making.
Organisational Development & Employee Engagement
- Drive initiatives that bolster organizational culture and employee engagement.
- Act as a change agent in organizational development projects, promoting a high-performance working environment.
Minimum Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree or relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Labour Relations, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist capacity.
- Deep technical knowledge of South African labour legislation and employee relations.
- Demonstrated experience engaging with senior management and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on, operational tasks.
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Unwavering commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and professional ethics.
- Experience within the manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, automotive, or FMCG sectors is highly advantageous.
Advantageous Experience
- Working within unionized or highly regulated industrial environments.
- Exposure to international HR structures and global reporting.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and HR analytics.
- Proven history with Lean Manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
