HR Officer Opportunity in Johannesburg
On Line Personnel is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced HR Officer to join our team in Johannesburg. This is a permanent position within the logistics sector, offering a salary range of R700 000 to R850 000 per annum CTC, commensurate with your qualifications and professional experience.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric qualification.
- B Degree or National Diploma in Human Resources.
- 5 to 7 years of full-cycle HR experience within a logistics or similar fast-paced environment, ideally at a junior or mid-managerial level.
- Demonstrated expertise in Human Resources and proven junior management capabilities.
- A solid track record in managing labour relations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HR administration, recruitment, training, performance management, and talent management.
- Sound theoretical and practical understanding of relevant labour legislation.
- Strong background as an HR generalist with experience in HR partnering.
Technical Skills
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office.
- Experience with SAGE 300 (People).
- Knowledge of ReMeasure job grading.
- Familiarity with Lexis Nexis for background verifications.
- Experience with Graylink E-Recruitment and in-house performance management software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal abilities to influence and interact professionally at all organizational levels.
- A self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and use initiative.
- A logical, analytical approach to problem-solving, supported by high energy and drive.
Key Performance Areas
Recruitment and Selection
Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including advertising vacancies, screening candidates, preparing longlists, coordinating interviews, and advising management on selections. You will also oversee necessary background checks and ensure all new starter documentation is completed accurately.
Payroll and Benefits Administration
Oversee the creation of new roles on SAGE, ensure accurate data capture and documentation, and maintain strict adherence to monthly payroll deadlines. Manage the administration of retirement fund and medical aid documentation for all employees.
Human Resources Administration
Maintain thorough personnel files and ensure all internal paperwork is finalized. You will support Employment Equity (EE) requirements, participate in EE and Training Committees, analyze exit interview data, and conduct annual reviews of HR policies.
Industrial Relations
Provide expert advisory services to management and staff regarding disciplinary procedures and labour relations. This includes guiding disciplinary and grievance hearings, advising on charges, and ensuring adherence to IR policies. You will represent the company at the CCMA for mediation or arbitration, stay current on case law and legislation, and assist with matters related to Section 189 and Section 197.
Reporting
Maintain accurate monthly reporting on staff movements, including new engagements, terminations, promotions, and current vacancies, while monitoring labour broker appointments.
