About the Role
As the Finance Manager (Operations), you will take full ownership of the company’s finance function. Your mandate includes overseeing financial reporting, treasury management, tax governance, and risk mitigation, all while partnering directly with engineering teams to drive project profitability and cost control. This position offers significant autonomy, commercial influence, and a clear path for professional growth for a mid-career financial leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Oversight: Lead the production of management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing profitability monitoring.
- Treasury & Cash Flow: Manage working capital, liquidity, and operational payment approvals.
- Tax, Compliance & Risk: Oversee SARS submissions, annual audits, IFRS standards, and B-BBEE verification processes.
- Commercial Support: Partner with operational teams on tender modeling, Capex reviews, and strategic procurement.
- Team Leadership: Coach and develop the existing finance team while continuously optimizing financial processes.
Requirements
- Qualified CA(SA) or an equivalent professional finance qualification.
- Proven track record in managing an end-to-end finance function, ideally within the Engineering, Mining, or Industrial sectors.
- Strong technical expertise in IFRS, tax legislation, cash flow modeling, and internal financial controls.
- A decisive, solutions-driven mindset; you must be comfortable with fast decision-making, autonomy, and cross-functional collaboration.
