We are currently partnering with an established retail data and technology group in their search for a high-caliber Finance Manager to join their centralized finance function in Cape Town. Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a strategic leadership role designed for a professional who thrives on managing teams and driving commercial value.
The Role
As the Finance Manager, you will oversee the broader finance operations rather than being tied to hands-on transactional tasks. Your primary focus will be leading and mentoring your team while maintaining oversight of the following areas:
- Financial reporting and the production of management accounts.
- Budgeting, forecasting, and detailed FP&A activities.
- Commercial finance initiatives and business partnering across the group.
- Treasury and foreign exchange management.
- Ensuring full audit, tax, and statutory compliance.
Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in the digital evolution of the department. We are looking for someone who understands how to leverage AI and automation to enhance operational efficiency. While you will not be required to build these technical tools personally, your ability to identify opportunities and lead their implementation will be a significant advantage.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- CA(SA) qualification is essential.
- A Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting or a BCom Honours in Accounting or Financial Management.
- Solid, demonstrable experience with multi-currency and multi-entity reporting environments.
- Proven track record in managing, developing, and leading finance teams.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable commercial insights.
