Job Description
Truworths Careers is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Facilities Co-Ordinator to join the Store Design Contracts Department. This role is integral to ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the company’s retail property portfolio, supporting both store development and ongoing operational efficiency. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating maintenance activities and collaborating with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate, track, and ensure the timely resolution of all building and plant maintenance issues across stores, including HVAC systems, escalators, hoists, water ingress, and fire-related incidents
- Prepare progress reports and supporting documentation based on engagement with Property Management, Legal, Operations, Landlords, and Contracts Management teams
- Collaborate with internal departments, external service providers, and stakeholders to achieve operational and project objectives
- Support the implementation and improvement of processes and systems within the department
- Maintain accurate record-keeping and ensure compliance with documentation standards
- Engage effectively with store operations teams, contractors, and support departments to ensure seamless communication and execution
Qualifications and Experience
- Matric/Grade 12 with an NQF Level 4 qualification in Facilities Management or Project Management
- NQF Level 5 or 6 in Facilities Management is advantageous
- 3–5 years’ experience in Property Management or Project Coordination, preferably within a retail or store development environment
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel

- Solid technical understanding of the building industry and associated trades
- Knowledge of retail property management principles
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills

- Strong time management and prioritisation skills
- Good financial and technical acumen
