Construction Site Foreman (Paarl Onsite)

Datafin is seeking a motivated and hands-on Construction Site Foreman (Paarl Onsite) to join our client’s established construction team. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with proven building and site supervision experience looking to develop their career under the mentorship of an experienced management team. The successful candidate will be based in Paarl and will play a vital role in overseeing daily site operations, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring that every project is completed to the highest standards of safety and quality, strictly according to schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the daily supervision of onsite construction activities to ensure efficiency and progress.
• Interpret complex construction drawings and accurately set out work from architectural and engineering plans.
• Provide direct oversight of brickwork, ensuring all construction methods meet site specifications.
• Manage critical detailing, including cavity walls, waterproofing, and damp-proof courses (DPCs).
• Supervise plastering works, with a focus on setting out, dotting for plumb and square, and rigorous quality control.
• Coordinate and provide leadership to subcontractors across the site.
• Monitor workmanship quality across multiple disciplines, including tiling, carpentry, ceilings, and roofing.
• Maintain strict site safety standards and assist the management team with ongoing project progress reporting.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Must currently reside in the Paarl area or immediate surrounds.
• Proven experience working as a Site Foreman, Site Supervisor, or in a similar construction leadership role.
• Strong technical ability to read, interpret, and implement construction drawings.
• Comprehensive understanding of South African building construction principles and industry best practices.
• Specific technical knowledge of brickwork, cavity walls, waterproofing, and DPC detailing.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and manage subcontractors effectively.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable personal transport.
