Measured Ability is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Materials Controller to join our team in Gauteng, covering the East Rand, Bedfordview, Germiston, and Isando areas. Requirements for the Materials Controller Role
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in warehousing, stock control, or project logistics.
- Relevant qualifications in logistics, inventory, or supply chain management.
- Solid computer literacy with experience navigating inventory management systems.
- Practical knowledge of the solar, electrical, construction, or industrial sectors is essential.
- Specific familiarity with PV components, including inverters, batteries, racking systems, and cabling.
- A valid driver’s licence will be considered an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
As a Materials Controller, you will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless flow of goods from the warehouse to project sites. Your daily duties will include:
- Preparing, picking, packing, and dispatching project materials in accordance with strict project schedules and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Maintaining rigorous stock control, including accurate binning, labelling, and inventory management.
- Conducting regular stock counts to ensure physical stock levels align perfectly with system records.
- Managing the processing of project returns, warranty items, and damaged stock.
- Coordinating logistics and deliveries while ensuring all dispatch documentation is accurate and complete.
- Collaborating closely with project and logistics teams to guarantee the timely availability of materials.
- Maintaining high standards of warehouse safety, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance.
- Proactively identifying potential stock shortages and communicating supply risks to prevent project delays.
