Talent Evolution (Pty) Ltd is seeking a motivated and analytical Junior Data Analyst to join our team in Johannesburg, Gauteng. In this role, you will play a vital part in the analysis, interpretation, and reporting of data, with a specific focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications and emerging market trends within the South African landscape. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who excels at transforming raw data into meaningful insights to drive informed business decisions.

Salary and Remuneration

The salary for this position is R37,000 – R40,000 per month.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, validate, and analyze datasets from diverse sources to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare and maintain regular and ad-hoc reports, dynamic dashboards, and data visualizations.
• Identify patterns, performance trends, and anomalies to generate actionable business insights.
• Collaborate with internal teams to understand specific analytical requirements and data needs.
• Explore and test AI tools and technologies to improve data analysis processes and business efficiency.
• Monitor emerging trends in AI and data analytics relevant to the South African market.
• Translate complex technical findings into clear, understandable narratives for stakeholders.
• Assist in tracking operational, product, and customer platform usage data.
• Ensure all data handling complies with relevant governance and protection standards.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation regarding data methodologies, sources, and analytical outputs.
• Identify opportunities for automation and workflow optimization.

Role Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or relevant qualification in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of professional experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or an analytical environment.
• A genuine interest in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and emerging tech.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and common data analysis tools.
• Exposure to SQL or other database querying languages is considered a strong advantage.
• Experience with visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau is beneficial.
• Foundational knowledge of statistical analysis, data modeling, and reporting.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and a high level of attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical findings to non-technical audiences.
• A proactive, curious, and solutions-focused approach to complex datasets.
• Familiarity with the South African business environment is advantageous.
• A willingness to learn new tools and adapt to evolving AI-driven methodologies.
