New Business Development Consultant
TrudyQ Consulting is currently representing a prominent finance funding solutions firm that specializes in the mining, construction, and earthmoving equipment sectors. We are seeking a high-performing New Business Development Consultant to join the team and drive growth across the Gauteng region.
In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities. You will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining high-value relationships with equipment dealers, contractors, mining companies, construction firms, transport businesses, and other commercial clients who require tailored asset finance solutions.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
- A relevant qualification in Business Management, Sales, Marketing, Finance, or a related field is highly advantageous.
- 2–5 years of proven experience in business development, sales, asset finance, commercial finance, or banking.
- A strong track record of consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Background knowledge within the asset finance, construction, mining, transport, or agricultural sectors.
- An established industry network within Gauteng.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout the region.
- Flexibility regarding working hours to meet business demands.
- A valid driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle are essential for this role.
Core Responsibilities
Business Development
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned Gauteng territory.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive market penetration and revenue growth.
- Build and manage a consistent, high-quality pipeline of prospects.
- Execute active lead generation through cold calling, networking, and regular client visits.
- Represent the company at industry events and exhibitions to increase brand presence.
Relationship Management
- Cultivate and nurture strong partnerships with equipment suppliers, dealers, brokers, and referral agents.
- Focus on long-term client retention by fostering trust and providing excellent service.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the entire sales and finance application process.
Sales and Finance Origination
- Present bespoke financing solutions that align with specific client needs.
- Collect and evaluate documentation required for finance applications.
- Collaborate closely with the credit department to ensure smooth and efficient deal processing.
- Negotiate terms and deal structures within established company guidelines.
- Oversee the full sales lifecycle, from initial lead generation through to final payout.
Market Intelligence
- Keep a close watch on competitor activities and shifting market trends.
- Identify emerging opportunities within the construction, mining, transport, and earthmoving sectors.
- Provide strategic feedback and market insights to management to support business growth.
Reporting and Administration
- Maintain meticulous records of all sales activities and client interactions via CRM systems.
- Prepare detailed weekly and monthly sales reports.
- Track pipeline performance and provide accurate business forecasts.
- Ensure all administrative documentation is completed with high precision and submitted on time.
