Information Pharmacist (6 Month Fixed Term)

MSP Staffing is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated professional for a 6 Month Fixed Term Information Pharmacist position based in Durban North. This role is ideal for a pharmacist with a passion for clinical support, evidence-based practice, and the delivery of high-quality drug information to enhance patient safety and clinical decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide precise, evidence-based medicines information to healthcare professionals and relevant internal stakeholders.
• Perform literature searches and conduct critical evaluations of clinical and scientific publications.
• Support ongoing pharmacovigilance and drug safety initiatives.
• Develop and prepare technical reports, informational documents, and clinical educational materials.
• Manage and maintain medicines information databases and essential bibliographic resources.
• Contribute to training programs, presentations, and educational outreach as needed.
• Maintain strict adherence to regulatory, ethical, and professional pharmacy standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Hold a BSc (Pharm) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree.
• Possess current registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
• Maintain active registration with the Pharmaceutical Society of South Africa (PSSA).
• A minimum of 4 years of professional experience within a retail, hospital, or managed healthcare pharmacy setting.
• Strong technical skills in literature searching, scientific evaluation, and critical appraisal.
• High proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Excellent written communication, presentation, and training capabilities.

Advantageous Qualifications and Experience

• Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy or Pharmacology.
• Prior experience in pharmacovigilance and drug safety activities.
• Experience utilizing bibliographic management software and databases, such as Microsoft Access.
