Measured Ability is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Logistics Manager – Automotive. This role is based in the Tshwane region, encompassing Pretoria, Shoshanguve, and Bronkhorstspruit. We are looking for a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of automotive supply chain dynamics to lead our logistics operations and ensure seamless efficiency across our import and export channels.
Responsibilities of the Logistics Manager – Automotive
In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of our vehicle supply chain, covering the entire process from initial order placement through to final delivery. Your primary duties will include:
- Overseeing all aspects of sea and air freight, including complex import, export, and cross-border logistics operations.
- Coordinating shipments in collaboration with international suppliers, shipping agents, customs officials, warehousing teams, and transport providers.
- Proactively managing vehicle allocations and stock levels to ensure high availability while effectively minimizing operational costs.
- Tracking and monitoring vessel movements to anticipate challenges and proactively communicate potential delays to relevant stakeholders.
- Managing all customs and freight documentation to ensure strict adherence to export compliance and regulatory standards.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess a strong background in automotive logistics and the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a logistics management capacity specifically within the automotive industry.
- Proven track record in managing imports, exports, international shipping, and transport operations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of inventory management systems and strategic supply chain planning.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting, tracking, and data analysis.
- Demonstrated experience in managing external logistics providers, freight forwarders, and complex customs processes.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills to foster strong professional relationships.
