HVAC Technician (Mining) Opportunity in Rustenburg

J2E Placements is representing a reputable HVAC firm currently seeking an experienced HVAC Technician (Mining) to join their team in Rustenburg. This is an immediate vacancy for a skilled professional who thrives in industrial environments and maintains a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Requirements

• Grade 12 certificate.
• Relevant Trade Test Certificate (Refrigeration) or recognized HVAC certification.
• Proven experience of 3 to 7+ years in industrial or mining HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Advanced electrical diagnostic capabilities with the ability to interpret complex technical schematics.
• Must be medically fit to work on mining sites.
• Clean criminal record.
• Valid South African driver’s license.
• Candidates must reside in or around the Rustenburg area.
• Preferred age range: 23 – 35 years old.

Key Responsibilities

• Performing maintenance on heavy industrial HVAC, refrigeration, and bulk cooling plants within challenging mining environments.
• Conducting detailed fault-finding on complex electrical panels, mechanical components, and wiring systems.
• Ensuring full compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA), OHSAct, and all site-specific SHEQ protocols.
• Assisting with the commissioning and setup of new cooling and ventilation equipment.
• Maintaining accurate service records, technical logs, and comprehensive maintenance reports.

Compensation

• The salary is R22 000 (after deductions), negotiable based on relevant industry experience.
