Mintek is currently seeking a strategic and visionary leader to join our team in Randburg as the Executive Manager: Human Resources (5 Year Fixed -Term Contract) at Mintek. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the Human Resources function, ensuring that the discipline is strategically aligned to support organizational objectives and drive people excellence across the institution.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Performance Management
- Drive the overall Human Resources division strategy and operations, developing actionable plans for full implementation.
- Provide strategic leadership in the ongoing management of remuneration systems, performance management, and HR information systems.
- Ensure the delivery of divisional KPIs while maintaining systems and tools to accurately monitor and measure performance.
- Lead and manage the Human Resources department, fostering a culture of collaboration that reflects Mintek’s core values.
Governance and Risk Management
- Manage risk profiling and mitigation activities for the division, including oversight of SHEQ requirements.
- Ensure strict adherence to Mintek’s internal policies, ethics, and relevant legislation.
- Implement effective divisional policies and maintain compliance across all functional areas.
Relationship Management and Operational Reporting
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement, developing relationships with new stakeholders while ensuring ongoing satisfaction for existing partners.
- Oversee the reporting process to ensure critical data is accurate, accessible, and provided in timely monthly and quarterly reports.
- Monitor divisional performance, including financial reporting, to address key results areas.
- Drive the automation, standardization, and optimization of processes to improve service quality and efficiency.
Financial Sustainability
- Manage an annual expenditure budget of R20 million.
- Ensure precise allocation of expenditure according to specific funding sources, including Science Vote, Mintek funds, or other earmarked allocations.
- Deliver cost-effective, user-friendly administrative and transactional support services to the business and its employees.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in Human Resources Management or a closely related field (NQF Level 9).
- At least 10 years of experience in the field, with a minimum of 5 years served in a management capacity.
- A thorough understanding of the PFMA and other applicable legislation.
- Strong business acumen and knowledge of Mintek’s specific products and activities.
- Proven ability to draft comprehensive reports and formalize policies and procedures.
