Procurement Manager
TrudyQ Consulting is seeking a strategic and results-driven Procurement Manager to join our team in Paarden Eiland, Cape Town. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing our procurement strategy by identifying and sourcing innovative products, building strong supplier partnerships, negotiating favorable commercial agreements, and driving continuous cost improvements. You will play a vital part in securing reliable international supply sources, identifying new market opportunities, and managing overall supplier performance to ensure our business remains competitive.
Key Responsibilities
Product Sourcing and Innovation
- Research international markets to identify innovative product opportunities.
- Expand and enhance our current product range to improve quality and profitability.
- Source alternative products to maintain a competitive edge.
- Support private label initiatives and new product launches.
- Maintain a pulse on industry trends and competitor activity.
Supplier Relationship Management
- Cultivate collaborative and long-term relationships with global suppliers.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and address any service or quality disputes.
- Ensure all suppliers consistently meet internal quality and service standards.
Commercial Negotiation and Cost Optimization
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, rebates, freight terms, and exclusivity agreements.
- Deliver measurable procurement savings to the bottom line.
- Analyze landed costs to drive gross margin improvements.
- Monitor exchange rate fluctuations and implement effective mitigation strategies.
Import Procurement and Supply Chain
- Collaborate with department buyers to plan purchasing based on accurate forecasts.
- Manage end-to-end import purchasing, including freight and customs compliance.
- Ensure continuity of supply while optimizing inventory levels.
Buying and Procurement Administration
- Process purchase orders and maintain comprehensive supplier records.
- Oversee stock levels and track shipment schedules.
- Coordinate supplier payments and account reconciliations.
- Maintain precise import documentation and provide regular updates on ETAs.
Compliance and Governance
- Ensure all procurement activities adhere to NRCS, SABS, and SARS customs regulations.
- Manage Letters of Authority and maintain audit-ready records.
Key Performance Indicators
Success in this role will be measured by your ability to deliver on the following:
