About the Role
Measured Ability is looking for a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as a Hotel Front Desk Coordinator in the Eastern Cape (Umtata, Port St Johns, and Flagstaff). In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Front Office department to ensure that every guest enjoys a seamless, professional, and welcoming experience from arrival to departure. Beyond managing day-to-day interactions, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining high administrative standards, supporting staff development, and ensuring the financial integrity of the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise Front Office operations to ensure smooth, efficient daily workflows.
- Lead, train, and coach team members to uphold excellence in guest service.
- Manage the guest experience, ensuring professional check-in and check-out processes.
- Resolve guest queries, complaints, and escalations with promptness and professionalism.
- Oversee departmental administration, including reporting, reservations support, and accurate record-keeping.
- Manage financial duties, including cash handling, float management, and daily reconciliations.
- Ensure the accurate capture of guest information and billing data.
- Maintain and enforce internal policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Coordinate closely with Housekeeping and Maintenance to ensure room readiness and overall guest satisfaction.
- Manage staff schedules, attendance, and departmental employee administration.
- Monitor team performance and assist with appraisals and ongoing professional development.
- Ensure full compliance with hotel policies and regulatory requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: A National Diploma in Hospitality Management or an equivalent tertiary qualification is mandatory.
- Experience: A minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a hotel Front Office environment, with proven supervisory exposure.
- Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of Front Office operations and proficiency in a Property Management System (PMS).
