Value Logistics Vacancies – Warehouse Supervisor
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for managing and controlling the end-to-end picking function and inventory control within the warehouse. This role oversees permanent and outsourced picking teams, ensuring consistent adherence to processes, achievement of productivity targets, and accurate, on-time order fulfillment. The Warehouse Supervisor plays a critical role in driving efficiency, discipline, safety, and system-driven operations while supporting the broader warehouse team to deliver a reliable and cost-effective service.
Key Responsibilities
Operations

Supervise, guide, and support permanent and outsourced picking staff

Maintain a disciplined, controlled, and efficient working environment

Conduct daily check-ins with staff on progress, productivity, and operational challenges

Ensure all picking activities follow agreed processes and warehouse standards

Enforce system-driven picking and correct stock selection from designated bays

Perform random accuracy checks on items and quantities to maintain high accuracy levels

Ensure picking output consistently meets productivity targets

Collaborate with warehouse planners to align picking activities with dispatch schedules
-
Ensure timely completion of picking to prevent delays, additional transport costs, and service failures

Monitor picking equipment such as pallet jacks and handheld scanners to ensure operational readiness

Ensure all administrative processes in the picking area are followed correctly

Report daily on productivity, progress, delays, challenges, and picking accuracy
-
Maintain accurate records of staff performance and process deviations
Warehouse Supervision

Lead, train, coach, and motivate picking teams

Enforce company policies, disciplinary procedures, and health and safety regulations
-
Conduct regular team meetings and toolbox talks
-
Provide constructive feedback and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Reporting and Documentation

Prepare daily and weekly reports on productivity, accuracy, and inventory performance

Monitor and track KPIs including order accuracy, picking timelines, and stock discrepancies

Maintain accurate documentation for internal and external audit compliance
Health & Safety Compliance

Ensure strict adherence to occupational health and safety standards

Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions

Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free working environment
Housekeeping
-
Ensure the warehouse remains clean, organized, and safe at all times

Keep aisles, picking areas, and storage zones free from obstructions and hazards
-
Implement and enforce daily housekeeping schedules
-
Monitor hygiene and safety compliance, including waste and packaging disposal
-
Conduct regular inspections to identify and address cleanliness or safety risks
-
Ensure tools, equipment, and PPE are stored correctly and maintained in good condition
Minimum Requirements
-
Grade 12 (Matric)
-
Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field (preferred)
-
Proven picking experience within a warehouse environment
-
Previous supervisory or team leader experience
Skills Requirements

Strong supervisory and people management skills

Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems, MS Office, and inventory control practices

Good literacy and numerical skills
